The California Department of Child Support Services also known as the DCSS is a State Agency tasked with the establishment and collection of child support. Each county in California has a DCSS office including San Diego.

If you are contacted by the DCSS on behalf of the other parent of your child/children you should immediately contact an attorney to explain your rights. You should always remember that the DCSS does not represent you and will not look out for your best interests. The DCSS has broad powers to enforce court orders for support; however, it is important to know that the DCSS does not have the power to issue or modify court orders.
